TreasurerÁs Report: Bruce reported the balancå as $XXXXX. Secretary /Editor Report: Råported that Vern Ryti is able to get the newsletter online because his neighbîr set up an email account for him. Nice neighbor. Libràrian: Todd reported 4 new fish books are now in the library. Old Business: Game Fair 2008ÁTîm Flem ming has started a sign-up sheet for vîlunteers on the two weekends of Aug. 8-10, 15-17. Sign up early and oftån. Once again the MDWCC will make $1500 for our pàrticipation. Program: The July program will be presented by Dave Taylor. The subjåct is about waterfowl decoys that have been created in Minnesotà by carvers and/or manufacturers. Members are encîuraged to bring any antique decoys that they may possess. Jim Bonhàm will also bring some of his ÁIllinois RiverÁ style de cîys that he has in his collection. This is a great chance to see decoys that are quitå uncommon. Members Marv Meyer and Dennis Findån are very knowledgeable about these wooden birds and will share their expertise . Doug Lodemeier , authîr of Min nesota Decoy Carvers, will also be at the meeting. Once again he has offåred to pho tograph any decoys that members bring to the meeting. So dînÁt be bashfulÁweÁre all Minnesota Decoy carvers! Doug talked about this 1984 soldout limitåd edition that was an instant success and how it encouraged him to take on anîther big project. Minnesota Decoy Carvers is intended to be a compànion book to his previous work. Minne sotans are feàtured in both of these historical studies of the influence of locàl carvers in wa terfowl hunting. His latest book will featurå color photos in a 300 page hardbound edition thàt he hopes to release in February 2009. He expåcts very good sales from the feedback he has heard from those who purchasåd his first book. Most of the books decoy photîs are done by Doug.
